What Is the CAT Exam?
The Common Admission Test (CAT) is India’s premier MBA entrance exam, conducted by the IIMs. It tests candidates across three sections: Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR), and Quantitative Aptitude (QA). Scores are normalized into percentiles used for IIM admissions.

What Calculators Are Allowed in the CAT Exam?
No physical calculators are allowed in the CAT exam. An on-screen calculator is provided within the test interface for use during the QA and DILR sections only. How is the CAT score calculated?
Each correct answer earns +3 marks. Each wrong answer (MCQ only) deducts 1 mark. TITA (type-in-the-answer) questions have no negative marking. Raw scores are then scaled and normalized across slots to produce the final scaled score and percentile.
